The Mid North Coast Maritime Museum is a treasure trove of Greater Port Macquarie's rich maritime history. Our commitment is to protect and showcase this precious heritage to the local community and visitors alike.
Our operations are fuelled by a team of dedicated volunteers, each sharing a deep love for the region's maritime past. Their passion is evident in the way they curate and maintain our collections, making every visit a memorable journey through time.
Our museum stretches across 3 distinct sites, each with its own unique story to tell. These locations offer a fascinating glimpse into the coastal past of the region, bringing the history to life in a way that is both engaging and educational.
There's something for everyone to discover, so come along and explore the maritime past of Greater Port Macquarie at the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum.
Our collection of exhibits narrates the captivating tales of individuals who have spent their lives working, sailing, and residing by the sea. Each exhibit is a time capsule, offering a glimpse into the lives and experiences of these maritime communities.
Through a meticulous preservation process, we've ensured that each artefact, from model ships to historical photographs, retains its authenticity. These pieces of history serve as a tangible link to the past, connecting our visitors to the rich tapestry of local maritime history that spans over a century.
Our hands-on restoration projects offer an immersive experience, allowing visitors to engage directly with history. Our aim is to bring history to life, to share the stories of those who've lived by the sea, and to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of our local maritime history.
We invite you to explore, learn, and connect with the past through our exhibits.
